We're delighted to launch the ANZEP Speaker Series with our inaugural seminar, focused on mis/disinformation. We're pleased to welcome two highly productive scholars working at the forefront of environmental psychology, science communication, and misinformation research. The session will feature two 20-minute presentations followed by open Q&A and discussion.
Works within the Net Zero Observatory led by ARC Laureate Fellow Professor Matthew Hornsey. His research sits at the intersection of social psychology, artificial intelligence, and science communication, with a focus on how AI systems shape belief change, persuasion, and the spread (and correction) of misinformation about climate change and other contentious scientific issues.
An environmental and social psychologist whose research examines how people respond to contemporary social issues, including climate change, disease outbreaks, and the spread of misinformation. His work focuses on pro-environmental attitudes and behaviours, climate change beliefs, conspiracy beliefs, and intergroup processes.
